The Story of Burnt Njal is a unique literary work that has been taught at different levels of education over the years. As one of the Icelandic Sagas it is well known, not only as good literature but also as a historical source and a vital part of the cultural heritage of the North. Njal's saga can easily be linked to or used in different subjects - e.g. linguistics, social sciences, natural sciences, arts and crafts, information and technology skills, sports and mathematics. The story is dramatic, with scenes of love, honor and power struggle, it is in many ways as relevant today as it was back when it was written.
